Renter Requirements
Optional Coverages
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is mandatory for renters ages 21-25 years (taxable)
Customer is liable for the full value of the Avis vehicle if Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is not taken. If CDW is purchased, the renter's liability is reduced to an amount ranging from 1000.00 EUR to 2000.00 EUR.
Note: In case of damage to the Avis vehicle, a charge of 50.00 EUR is applied for accident handling administration costs, in addition to the renter's liability amount.
Theft Protection (TP) is mandatory (taxable)
Note: If you require additional insurance coverage you may purchase locally to reduce/remove the insurance excess. Just ask at the Avis rental desk when you collect your car.

Drivers License
At the time of rentals, the driver must present a valid drivers license in the drivers name from their country of residence. Customers presenting a drivers license in a non-Roman alphabet must also present an International Driving Permit (IDP) to serve as a translation in addition to their valid drivers license..
Public Liability and Property Damage
Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country. Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.
Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles. The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental. Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.
Age Requirements
At this location the minimum age to rent is 21 for car group A (economy car), is 23 years for car groups B & K (economy car), C, D & P(compact car), E & M (intermediate car), L (standard), G (intermediate wagon), I (intermediate van), J (standard van) and N (full size). At time of rental, we will automatically apply an additional 10.00 EUR per rental young driver fee for renters ages 21-23 years.
The minimum age to rent is 25 years for car groups F (station wagon), H (luxury).
Age Requirements
How old do I need to be to drive a rental vehicle?
To drive our vehicles, you and all of your drivers need to be at least 19 years old and have held a full, valid driving licence for at least 12 months at the start of your rental.
A higher minimum age limit may apply to certain vehicles.
How do I know if there are minimum age restrictions on my rental?
When you book, you will be told if there are any minimum age restrictions for the vehicle you request. If you are not sure, please check your booking confirmation email or call the reservations team.
I am under 25, do I need to pay a young driver surcharge?
If you or any of your drivers are under 25 when you pick up the vehicle, you will each have to pay a young driver surcharge. The cost for this will depend on where you are picking the vehicle up from, but you can expect it to be around 100 DKK, per day, for each driver.
If you rent the vehicle for more than 10 days, you will only be charged for a maximum of 10 days and get cover for the duration of your rental, up to 30 days.
